Internet Speed vs Bandwidth vs Latency: What Is the Difference?

Compare download speed, upload throughput, response time and jitter without confusing them.

Download and upload speeds

Download speed describes how quickly data is received; upload speed describes how quickly it is sent. Mbps means megabits per second, not megabytes per second.

Latency and jitter

Latency measures delay, while jitter describes variation between samples. Low latency matters for calls, gaming and interactive applications.

Why test results differ

Browser-based tests depend on the test server, Wi‑Fi quality, congestion and the browser. A result to one server is not a guarantee of your entire ISP connection.
