Laptop Battery Health Guide
Generate a Windows battery report and interpret its values.
For Windows laptops, use Windows’ built-in battery report rather than a fake browser-side battery scan.
- Create report: Open Command Prompt as your user and run: powercfg /batteryreport
- Find the report: Open the HTML path displayed by Windows after the command.
- Compare capacity: Compare Design Capacity and Full Charge Capacity. Lower full charge capacity suggests wear; readings can vary.
- If capacity is low: Check warranty options and battery replacement guidance from the manufacturer.
How to use this tool
Follow the steps above. Browser tests run locally when possible; other tasks provide practical troubleshooting guidance rather than claiming to scan your computer or network.
Important limitations
Results depend on your device, permissions, Windows version and network configuration. Back up important files before system changes and consult your device manufacturer for hardware repairs.
